As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The exhaust manifold is a crucial component of your vehicle's exhaust system, responsible for collecting exhaust gases from the engine's cylinders and directing them into the exhaust pipe. When the exhaust manifold cracks, it can lead to various engine performance issues and potential damage. Recognizing the symptoms of a cracked exhaust manifold early can help you address the problem promptly and maintain your vehicle’s performance.

A cracked exhaust manifold can cause a range of issues, from reduced engine performance to increased emissions. Identifying the symptoms of a cracked exhaust manifold early can prevent more severe damage and costly repairs. Here are the common signs that your exhaust manifold may be cracked.

  • Exhaust Noise

    • One of the most noticeable symptoms of a cracked exhaust manifold is a loud, unusual noise coming from the engine. This noise is often described as a ticking or tapping sound that is more pronounced during acceleration or when the engine is cold.

  • Decreased Engine Performance

    • A cracked exhaust manifold can lead to a loss of backpressure, resulting in decreased engine performance. You may experience reduced power, poor acceleration, and lower overall engine efficiency.

  • Visible Cracks

    • In some cases, you may be able to see visible cracks or damage on the exhaust manifold. Inspect the manifold for any signs of wear, rust, or damage, especially around the connection points and welds.

  • Exhaust Smell

    • A cracked exhaust manifold can cause exhaust gases to leak into the engine bay. This can lead to a noticeable exhaust smell inside the vehicle, especially when the windows are closed or the air conditioning is running.

  • Check Engine Light

    •  A cracked exhaust manifold can trigger the check engine light on your dashboard. Use an OBD-II scanner to check for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) related to the exhaust system.

  • Increased Emissions

    • If the exhaust manifold is cracked, it can result in incomplete combustion and increased emissions. You may notice black smoke from the exhaust or fail an emissions test due to higher-than-normal pollutant levels.

  • Poor Fuel Economy

    •  A cracked exhaust manifold can lead to inefficient engine operation, resulting in poor fuel economy. If you notice a sudden drop in your vehicle's fuel efficiency, it could be due to a problem with the exhaust manifold.

In conclusion, the symptoms of a cracked exhaust manifold include unusual exhaust noise, decreased engine performance, visible cracks, exhaust smell, check engine light activation, increased emissions, and poor fuel economy. Recognizing these symptoms early can help you address the issue before it leads to more significant engine damage. If you suspect that your exhaust manifold is cracked, it is essential to consult with a professional mechanic for a thorough inspection and necessary repairs. Regular maintenance and prompt attention to exhaust system issues can keep your vehicle running smoothly and efficiently.
