The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system in your Caterpillar CT13 engine is essential for reducing emissions and maintaining optimal engine performance. A critical component of this system is the EGR cooler, which cools exhaust gases before they are recirculated back into the engine. The Caterpillar CT13 EGR Cooler 2011-2014: OEM 465-1545 is designed to ensure your engine runs efficiently while preventing overheating, a common issue that can lead to significant engine damage if not addressed.

Benefits of the Caterpillar CT13 EGR Cooler OEM 465-1545

  • Prevents Overheating

    • The primary function of the EGR cooler is to reduce the temperature of exhaust gases before they are reintroduced into the engine. This process is crucial in preventing overheating, which can cause severe damage to engine components. The OEM 465-1545 is specifically designed to handle the high temperatures of the Caterpillar CT13 engine, ensuring consistent performance.

  • Reduces Emissions

    •  By cooling the exhaust gases, the EGR cooler helps lower the production of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are harmful pollutants. This reduction in NOx emissions helps your engine meet stringent environmental regulations and contributes to a cleaner operation.

  • Improves Engine Efficiency

    • The OEM 465-1545 EGR cooler ensures that exhaust gases are at the optimal temperature for efficient combustion. This leads to better fuel efficiency and improved overall engine performance, which can result in lower operational costs.

  • Durable and Reliable

    • Built to withstand the demanding conditions of heavy-duty use, the Caterpillar CT13 EGR Cooler OEM 465-1545 offers long-lasting durability. Its robust construction reduces the need for frequent replacements, ensuring reliable performance over time.

Why Choose OEM 465-1545 for Your Caterpillar CT13 Engine?

The Caterpillar CT13 EGR Cooler OEM 465-1545 is specifically engineered to meet the exact specifications of your engine. This ensures optimal cooling of exhaust gases, preventing overheating and reducing emissions. By choosing this OEM part, you invest in a reliable and durable solution that enhances your engine's efficiency and longevity.

Preventing overheating and reducing emissions are critical for maintaining the performance and longevity of your Caterpillar CT13 engine. The Caterpillar CT13 EGR Cooler 2011-2014: OEM 465-1545 provides the durability and reliability needed to keep your engine running smoothly. By investing in this high-quality EGR cooler, you ensure that your engine remains efficient, compliant with emissions standards, and protected from the risks associated with overheating.

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler is an essential component in diesel engines, designed to reduce emissions by cooling exhaust gases before they are recirculated into the engine. However, over time, the EGR cooler can fail, leading to a host of engine issues and potential damage. Understanding the common causes of EGR cooler failure can help you take preventive measures and maintain your engine’s performance. In this blog, we’ll explore the key factors that contribute to EGR cooler failure.

  • Heat Stress

    • The EGR cooler is constantly exposed to high temperatures as it cools the exhaust gases. Over time, this exposure can cause the cooler to crack or warp, leading to leaks and eventual failure. Continuous heat cycling weakens the material, making it more susceptible to damage.

  • Coolant Contamination

    •  If the coolant used in your vehicle is contaminated with debris or becomes acidic over time, it can corrode the internal surfaces of the EGR cooler. This corrosion weakens the cooler, leading to leaks and reduced efficiency.

  • Soot and Carbon Buildup

    • Diesel engines are prone to soot and carbon buildup, which can accumulate in the EGR cooler over time. This buildup restricts the flow of exhaust gases, causing the cooler to overheat and eventually fail due to excessive stress.

  • Poor Maintenance

    • Neglecting regular maintenance, such as coolant flushes and EGR system cleaning, can accelerate the wear and tear on the EGR cooler. Without proper maintenance, the cooler is more likely to develop blockages, leaks, and other issues that lead to failure.

  • Manufacturing Defects

    •  In some cases, EGR coolers may fail due to manufacturing defects. These defects might not become apparent until the cooler has been in use for some time, leading to premature failure even under normal operating conditions.

  • Excessive Engine Load

    • Operating the engine under high loads, such as towing heavy loads or driving in extreme conditions, can put additional stress on the EGR cooler. This increased demand can cause the cooler to fail more quickly, especially if it’s already weakened by other factors.

Understanding the common causes of EGR cooler failure is essential for maintaining your vehicle’s performance and preventing costly repairs. By staying on top of regular maintenance, using the correct coolant, and being mindful of operating conditions, you can extend the life of your EGR cooler and keep your engine running smoothly. Addressing issues early can prevent more serious problems and ensure your vehicle remains reliable and efficient for years to come.

Operating with a failed cooler may cause head gasket failure, engine overheating, and severe engine component damage.

With proper maintenance and clean coolant, it can provide reliable performance for many years.

Routine inspections, clean coolant, and monitoring soot levels help prevent clogging and premature failure.

Internal cracks may allow coolant to leak into the exhaust system, causing white exhaust smoke and coolant loss.
