As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.
What is a Core Charge?
A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.
30 Day Core Charge Hold
You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

A Cummins Engine Oil Pressure Sensor (OEM 2897691) plays a critical role in monitoring and maintaining the oil pressure in your engine. It ensures that your engine is running smoothly by constantly sending oil pressure data to the vehicle's computer system. This sensor is vital in protecting the engine from damage caused by low or high oil pressure.
The sensor works by detecting changes in the oil pressure and relaying that information through a signal. When oil pressure falls below or rises above the recommended range, it triggers warning lights or alerts on the dashboard, ensuring timely maintenance.
Key Features of the Cummins Engine Oil Pressure Sensor:
- Monitors oil pressure
- to protect engine components
- Sends real-time pressure data
- to the vehicle’s system
- Helps identify issues
- before they escalate
- Enhances engine longevity
- by maintaining optimal oil pressure
If you notice oil pressure warning lights or erratic oil pressure readings, it may be time to inspect or replace the sensor. A functioning oil pressure sensor ensures that the engine runs smoothly, avoiding costly repairs. Consider investing in a reliable oil pressure sensor to maintain engine efficiency and avoid unexpected breakdowns.
If your engine oil pressure sensor starts to fail, it can lead to inaccurate readings, affecting the overall function of your vehicle. Identifying the warning signs early can help you avoid more severe issues down the road. Here are the common indicators that your engine oil pressure sensor may need to be replaced.
Warning Signs:
- Inaccurate oil pressure readings
- If you notice fluctuations in the oil pressure gauge or if it shows unusually high or low readings, your sensor may be malfunctioning.
- Oil pressure warning light
- A persistent oil warning light, even when the oil level is correct, is a clear sign that the sensor may be faulty.
- Engine sounds
- Unusual noises like ticking or knocking from the engine can indicate a problem with the oil pressure, which could stem from a faulty sensor.
- Oil leaks
- Sometimes, a defective sensor may cause oil leaks around its base.
If you experience any of these signs, it's important to check your engine oil pressure sensor and consider replacing it promptly. Staying proactive can prevent engine damage and costly repairs.
