In most cases Tamerx Diesel Products only needs one address, as long as your product is shipping to the same location as your billing information. In order to eliminate credit card fraud, your billing information must match the credit card you provide.

The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

Glow plugs are vital components in diesel engines, responsible for heating the air in the combustion chamber to ensure efficient ignition, especially in cold conditions. When glow plugs fail, it can lead to starting problems and reduced engine performance. Understanding the common causes of glow plug failure can help in maintaining your diesel engine's reliability.

Common Causes of Glow Plug Failure

Glow plug failure can be attributed to several factors. Here are the most common reasons why glow plugs might fail:

  • Wear and Tear
    • Over time, glow plugs can wear out due to the repeated heating and cooling cycles they undergo. This natural wear and tear can reduce their effectiveness and eventually lead to failure.
  • Carbon Buildup
    • Deposits of carbon can accumulate on the glow plugs, especially if the engine has been running with a rich fuel mixture. This buildup can insulate the glow plugs, preventing them from heating up properly.
  • Electrical Issues
    • Problems with the electrical system, such as faulty wiring, a bad relay, or issues with the glow plug control module, can prevent the glow plugs from receiving the necessary power to operate.
  • Overheating
    • Glow plugs can overheat if they are left on for too long or if the engine is running under high-stress conditions. Overheating can cause the glow plug to warp or crack, leading to failure.
  • Fuel Quality
    • Poor-quality fuel can leave deposits and cause incomplete combustion, which can damage the glow plugs over time. Using high-quality fuel can help mitigate this issue.
  • Engine Problems
    • Issues such as poor compression or a malfunctioning fuel injection system can lead to incomplete combustion and stress the glow plugs, causing them to fail prematurely.

Signs of Failing Glow Plugs

Recognizing the signs of failing glow plugs can help you take action before they lead to more severe engine problems. Look out for these symptoms:

  • Hard Starting
    • Difficulty starting the engine, especially in cold weather, is a common sign of failing glow plugs.
  • Rough Idling
    • The engine may idle roughly if the glow plugs are not heating the combustion chamber adequately.
  • White Smoke
    • White smoke from the exhaust upon startup can indicate that the fuel is not burning completely, often due to faulty glow plugs.
  • Engine Misfires
    • Misfires during startup or while the engine is running can be a sign that the glow plugs are not functioning correctly.

Preventing Glow Plug Failure

To prolong the life of your glow plugs and prevent premature failure, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Regular Inspections
    • Regularly inspect the glow plugs and associated electrical components to ensure they are in good condition.
  • Use Quality Fuel
    • Opt for high-quality diesel fuel to prevent deposits and ensure complete combustion.
  • Address Engine Issues
    •  Fix any underlying engine problems that could stress the glow plugs, such as poor compression or fuel injection issues.
  • Follow Manufacturer Guidelines
    •  Adhere to the maintenance schedule and guidelines provided by the manufacturer for your vehicle.

Understanding the causes of glow plug failure can help you maintain your diesel engine's performance and reliability. Regular maintenance, using quality fuel, and addressing engine issues promptly can extend the life of your glow plugs.
