The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The Ford Powerstroke 6.4L engine from 2008 to 2010 is known for its reliability, even in cold weather conditions. One of the essential components that helps ensure easy cold starts is the Glow Plug, specifically the OEM 8C3Z-12A342-A. Designed to preheat the engine cylinders, this glow plug ensures that the engine starts smoothly and efficiently, even in freezing temperatures.

The Importance of Glow Plugs in Diesel Engines

Glow plugs are a critical component in diesel engines, especially during cold weather. Diesel engines rely on compression to ignite the fuel, and when temperatures drop, the fuel can become difficult to ignite. That’s where the glow plug comes in—by heating the air inside the cylinder, it makes starting the engine easier and prevents damage to the engine from repeated cold starts.

Tips for Maintaining Your Glow Plugs

  • Regular Inspection
    • Checking your glow plugs as part of routine engine maintenance can help you spot issues early and avoid cold start problems.
  • Replace When Necessary
    •  If you notice any of the symptoms mentioned above, it’s a good idea to replace your glow plugs before they fail completely.
  • Use OEM Parts
    • Always opt for OEM parts like the 8C3Z-12A342-A to ensure the best fit and performance for your Ford Powerstroke engine.

The Ford Powerstroke 6.4L Glow Plug (OEM 8C3Z-12A342-A) is vital for maintaining your engine’s cold start capability and overall performance. By replacing worn-out glow plugs, you ensure smoother starts, reduce engine wear, and improve cold weather performance. At TamerX Diesel Parts, we stock top-quality OEM parts to keep your vehicle running at its best, no matter the weather conditions.

Glow plugs are essential components in diesel engines, helping to create the heat needed for combustion, especially during cold starts. When one or more glow plugs start to fail, it can lead to various engine performance issues. In this blog, we’ll explore the common signs that indicate a bad glow plug and why it’s important to address the issue promptly.

  • Hard Starting in Cold Weather

    • One of the most noticeable signs of a bad glow plug is difficulty starting the engine, particularly in cold temperatures. Diesel engines rely on glow plugs to preheat the cylinders, and when they fail, the engine may crank but not start easily.

  • Rough Idling After Startup

    •  If your engine idles roughly or runs unevenly after startup, it could be due to one or more faulty glow plugs. The engine may misfire or hesitate until it warms up and the combustion process stabilizes.

  • White Smoke from the Exhaust

    • White smoke coming from the exhaust is another common symptom of a bad glow plug. This smoke indicates unburned fuel, which can occur when the glow plugs are not properly heating the engine’s cylinders during ignition.

  • Decreased Fuel Efficiency

    • A failing glow plug can cause incomplete combustion, leading to a reduction in fuel efficiency. If you notice that your diesel engine is using more fuel than usual, it could be a sign that the glow plugs need to be checked.

  • Check Engine Light

    •  In some cases, a bad glow plug will trigger the check engine light. Modern diesel engines are equipped with sensors that monitor the performance of glow plugs, and any malfunction can result in a warning light on the dashboard.

  • Engine Misfires

    • A bad glow plug can lead to engine misfires, particularly during cold starts. This happens when the fuel does not ignite properly in the cylinder, causing rough running or a loss of power.

  • Excessive Cranking Time

    • If the engine takes longer to crank than usual before starting, it may be a sign of bad glow plugs. This is because the glow plugs are not producing enough heat to ignite the fuel quickly.

Recognizing the symptoms of a bad glow plug—such as hard starting, rough idling, and white smoke from the exhaust—can help you diagnose and fix the issue before it leads to more serious engine problems. If you suspect that your glow plugs are failing, it’s essential to replace them promptly to maintain efficient engine performance. At TamerX Diesel Parts, we offer top-quality glow plugs and related components to keep your diesel engine running smoothly. Don’t ignore the warning signs—regular maintenance of your glow plugs ensures reliable cold starts and optimal fuel combustion.
