As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.
What is a Core Charge?
A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.
30 Day Core Charge Hold
You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

An engine oil cooler is a crucial component in maintaining the efficiency and longevity of your International Navistar VT365 engine. Specifically, the 2003-2010 OEM 3C3Z-6A642-CA model ensures that the engine oil is kept at an optimal temperature, preventing overheating and preserving engine performance.
The Function of an Engine Oil Cooler
The engine oil cooler operates by transferring excess heat from the engine oil to the coolant. This process occurs in a heat exchanger, where oil flows through a series of passages that are surrounded by coolant. The cooler the oil, the better it lubricates and protects the engine's internal components.
Key Features and Benefits
- Enhanced Engine Performance
- Maintaining proper oil temperature ensures that the engine runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Prolonged Engine Life
- By preventing oil from overheating, the cooler reduces wear and tear on engine components.
- Improved Oil Viscosity
- Cooler oil retains its viscosity better, which enhances lubrication and reduces friction.
- Reduced Engine Stress
- Consistent oil temperatures help in minimizing engine stress during high-performance tasks.
Importance in the International Navistar VT365
In the International Navistar VT365, the engine oil cooler is especially vital due to the engine's high-performance demands. The VT365 is known for its power and durability, and the oil cooler plays a key role in maintaining these attributes by:
- Preventing engine oil breakdown
- Reducing the risk of engine overheating
- Enhancing overall engine efficiency
Maintenance Tips
Regular maintenance of the engine oil cooler includes checking for leaks, ensuring the coolant levels are adequate, and inspecting the cooler for any blockages or damage. Replacing the oil cooler with the OEM 3C3Z-6A642-CA part as needed ensures compatibility and optimal performance.
A failed engine oil cooler can lead to serious engine damage if not addressed promptly. Recognizing the symptoms early can save you from costly repairs. Here’s what to look out for:
Overheating Engine
One of the most common signs of a failing engine oil cooler is an overheating engine. When the oil cooler is not functioning correctly, it fails to regulate the engine oil temperature, causing the engine to overheat.
Coolant Contamination
A failing oil cooler can also cause coolant contamination. This happens when the oil and coolant mix, leading to a milky or frothy appearance in the coolant reservoir. Be on the lookout for:
- Milky coolant
- Frothy substance in the coolant reservoir
- Unusual coolant smell
Low Oil Pressure
Another symptom is a drop in oil pressure. The oil cooler helps maintain optimal oil pressure; if it fails, you might notice a significant drop. This can lead to inadequate lubrication and increased friction within the engine.
Leaking Oil
Oil leaks around the oil cooler area are a clear indication of a problem. These leaks can cause a significant drop in oil levels, leading to engine damage.
Decreased Engine Performance
A noticeable decline in engine performance is also a sign. The engine might struggle to perform under normal conditions, and you might experience frequent stalling or reduced power output.
If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s crucial to address them immediately. Replacing a faulty engine oil cooler can prevent further damage and maintain your engine.
