The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The cylinder head gasket is a crucial component in maintaining the integrity and performance of an engine. For the International Navistar MaxxForce DT engines from 2008 to 2010, the OEM 1889248C94 Cylinder Head Gasket Kit ensures a proper seal between the cylinder head and engine block. In this blog, we will discuss the role of the cylinder head gasket and its importance in keeping your engine running smoothly.

Key Functions of the International Navistar MaxxForce DT Cylinder Head Gasket

  • Seals the Combustion Chamber
    •  The OEM 1889248C94 gasket creates a tight seal around the combustion chamber, ensuring that the air-fuel mixture remains contained for efficient combustion.
  • Prevents Fluid Leaks
    • This gasket keeps coolant and engine oil from mixing by sealing off the passages between the cylinder head and the engine block, preventing potential engine damage.
  • Maintains Engine Compression
    • The gasket ensures proper compression in the combustion chamber, which is crucial for maintaining engine power and efficiency.
  • Supports Temperature Regulation
    •  By sealing coolant passages, the gasket helps regulate engine temperature and prevents overheating.
  • Protects Engine Components
    •  A reliable cylinder head gasket reduces the risk of damage to internal components by maintaining a stable and sealed environment.

Maintenance Tips for the International Navistar MaxxForce DT Cylinder Head Gasket

  • Inspect Regularly for Signs of Wear
    •  Regularly check the gasket for any signs of leaks, damage, or wear that could compromise its sealing ability.
  • Monitor Engine Temperature
    • Overheating can cause the gasket to fail. Keep the cooling system in good condition to help regulate engine temperature.
  • Use Quality Engine Oil and Coolant
    • Using the recommended fluids helps protect the gasket and other engine components from excessive wear.
  • Replace When Needed
    •  If you notice symptoms like coolant leaks, reduced engine power, or white smoke from the exhaust, it may be time to replace the gasket with the OEM 1889248C94 kit.

The International Navistar MaxxForce DT Cylinder Head Gasket OEM 1889248C94 (Kit) is essential for maintaining engine compression, preventing fluid leaks, and ensuring overall engine health. Regular inspection and timely replacement will help keep your engine running efficiently. TamerX Diesel Parts provides high-quality OEM gaskets to support the long-term reliability and performance of your International Navistar MaxxForce DT engine.

The cylinder head gasket is a crucial component in your engine, responsible for sealing the combustion chambers, coolant passages, and oil passages. When a cylinder head gasket fails, it can lead to a range of engine problems that may compromise performance and cause significant damage if left untreated. Recognizing the symptoms of a bad cylinder head gasket early on can help you avoid costly repairs and maintain your engine's health.

  • Engine Overheating

    •  One of the most common signs of a failing head gasket is engine overheating. A damaged gasket can cause coolant to leak into the combustion chamber or outside the engine, leading to a drop in coolant levels and elevated engine temperatures.

  • White Smoke from the Exhaust

    •  If you notice thick white smoke coming from the exhaust, it may indicate that coolant is leaking into the combustion chamber due to a bad head gasket. The burning coolant produces white, steam-like smoke.

  • Loss of Coolant with No Visible Leak

    • If your vehicle's coolant levels are frequently low without any visible leaks, the head gasket may be leaking internally, allowing coolant to escape into the combustion chamber or mix with the engine oil.

  • Milky Oil Appearance

    •  A bad cylinder head gasket can cause coolant to mix with engine oil, resulting in a milky or frothy appearance. This mixture can compromise the oil's lubricating properties and lead to engine damage.

  • Poor Engine Performance

    •  A damaged head gasket may affect engine compression, leading to reduced power, rough idling, or frequent misfires. This happens because the gasket is no longer providing a proper seal in the combustion chamber.

  • Bubbling in the Radiator or Coolant Reservoir

    •  When a head gasket fails, combustion gases can leak into the coolant system, causing bubbles to form in the radiator or coolant reservoir. This can also contribute to engine overheating.

  • Check Engine Light Activation

    •  The check engine light may come on if the vehicle's sensors detect issues such as misfires, overheating, or low compression, which can be caused by a bad head gasket.

A failing cylinder head gasket can lead to significant engine problems if not addressed promptly. Symptoms such as engine overheating, white exhaust smoke, and milky oil are clear indicators that your head gasket may be compromised. If you notice any of these signs, it’s important to have your vehicle inspected by a professional to confirm the issue and avoid further damage. Regular maintenance and timely repairs are essential for keeping your engine running smoothly and extending its lifespan.
