The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.
Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.
Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".
If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.
As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.
What is a Core Charge?
A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.
30 Day Core Charge Hold
You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The Chevrolet GMC Duramax LML CP4 to CP3 Conversion Kit (2011-2016) is designed to replace the factory CP4 high-pressure fuel pump with a more reliable CP3 pump. The CP3 pump is known for its durability and consistent fuel delivery, helping to reduce the risk of fuel system failure commonly associated with the CP4 pump. This conversion kit is engineered for a direct fit, maintaining proper fuel pressure and supporting engine efficiency without the need for additional tuning. Upgrading to a CP3 system can enhance long-term reliability, prevent costly injector and pump failures, and keep your engine running smoothly under demanding conditions.

For diesel truck owners, the choice between CP4 and CP3 fuel injection pumps is significant. The CP4 pump, while more efficient, has a reputation for potential catastrophic failures, leading many to consider converting to the more reliable CP3 pump. Deciding whether a CP4 to CP3 conversion is worth it involves weighing the benefits and drawbacks of this modification.
Converting from a CP4 to a CP3 fuel injection pump has become a popular modification among diesel truck enthusiasts. The CP3 pump is known for its durability and reliability, while the CP4 pump, although more efficient, has a history of failures. This blog will explore whether a CP4 to CP3 conversion is worth the investment, considering various factors that affect performance and longevity.
-
Reliability
-
The CP3 pump is widely regarded as more reliable than the CP4. The CP4 pump has a higher failure rate, which can lead to expensive repairs. Switching to a CP3 pump can reduce the risk of fuel system failures and extend the life of your engine.
-
-
Durability
-
CP3 pumps are built to handle higher levels of contaminants and wear and tear. This makes them more durable over time, especially for trucks operating in harsh conditions or with high mileage.
-
-
Fuel Efficiency
-
While the CP4 pump is more efficient and provides better fuel economy, the difference is often marginal. Many truck owners find that the improved reliability of the CP3 pump outweighs the slight decrease in fuel efficiency.
-
-
Performance
-
The CP3 pump can deliver consistent fuel pressure, which can enhance engine performance. Although the CP4 pump is designed for higher pressure, the CP3 is sufficient for most performance needs and can be modified to handle higher outputs if necessary.
-
-
Cost
-
Converting from a CP4 to a CP3 pump involves an initial investment in parts and labor. However, the long-term savings from avoiding potential CP4 failures and associated repair costs can make the conversion cost-effective.
-
-
Compatibility
-
The CP3 pump is compatible with a wide range of aftermarket upgrades. This makes it a popular choice for those looking to further enhance their truck’s performance with additional modifications.
-
-
Peace of Mind
-
Knowing that your fuel system is more reliable and less likely to fail provides peace of mind, especially for those who use their trucks for heavy-duty or long-distance applications.
-
In conclusion, a CP4 to CP3 conversion is worth considering for diesel truck owners looking for improved reliability and durability. While there are initial costs associated with the conversion, the long-term benefits, including reduced risk of catastrophic failures and potential savings on repairs, make it a worthwhile investment. If you are experiencing issues with your CP4 pump or simply want to enhance your truck’s performance and longevity, consulting with a professional mechanic about a CP3 conversion could be a prudent decision.
The factory-installed CP4 pump is known for potential failures that can lead to extensive and costly fuel system damage. Upgrading to the more reliable CP3 pump enhances durability and reduces the risk of such failures.
Many CP3 conversion kits are designed for direct installation without the need for custom tuning or additional modifications, allowing for seamless integration with the existing system.
Certain CP3 conversion kits are engineered to maintain factory emissions controls, ensuring the vehicle remains emissions-compliant post-installation.
A comprehensive kit generally includes a new or remanufactured CP3 pump, mounting hardware, high-pressure fuel lines, electrical harnesses, and necessary fittings for a complete installation.
