As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

For Detroit DD15 and DD16 engines from 2010 to 2014, maintaining optimal emission control is crucial for both engine performance and environmental compliance. The Detroit DD15, DD16 EGR Valve, OEM DDE/EA4701500794, plays a significant role in reducing emissions and improving engine efficiency. In this blog, we will focus on the importance of the EGR valve and how it enhances engine performance.

The Role of the EGR Valve

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is a critical component in your engine’s emission control system. It recirculates a portion of the exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Here are some key points about the function and benefits of the EGR valve:

  • Reduces NOx Emissions
    •  The EGR valve helps lower NOx emissions by recirculating exhaust gases, which reduces the combustion temperature.
  • Improves Fuel Efficiency
    •  By promoting more complete combustion, the EGR valve can help improve fuel efficiency, resulting in better mileage.
  • Enhances Engine Performance
    • Proper functioning of the EGR valve ensures smoother engine operation, reducing instances of knocking and improving overall performance.
  • Prevents Engine Overheating
    •  The EGR system helps keep the engine temperature in check, preventing overheating and potential engine damage.
  • Compliance with Emission Standards
    •  Using a high-quality EGR valve like the OEM DDE/EA4701500794 ensures your vehicle complies with stringent emission regulations.

Benefits of Using the OEM DDE/EA4701500794 EGR Valve

Ensuring effective emission control and engine performance is essential for the longevity and reliability of your Detroit DD15 or DD16 engine. The Detroit DD15, DD16 EGR Valve, OEM DDE/EA4701500794, plays a crucial role in reducing emissions, improving fuel efficiency, and enhancing engine performance. Invest in the OEM DDE/EA4701500794 EGR valve to keep your engine running smoothly and in compliance with environmental regulations. Optimize your engine’s performance and emission control with the right EGR valve.

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is a critical component in modern engines, designed to reduce emissions by recirculating a portion of the exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber. However, when the EGR valve malfunctions, it can lead to various engine problems that affect performance and fuel efficiency. In this blog, we will explore how a faulty EGR valve can cause engine problems and what symptoms to look out for.

A malfunctioning EGR valve can significantly impact your vehicle's engine performance and emissions. The EGR valve plays a crucial role in controlling the amount of exhaust gases re-entering the combustion chamber, thus reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. When this component fails, it can lead to a range of engine problems. Understanding the symptoms of a faulty EGR valve can help you take corrective action and maintain your vehicle's efficiency and performance.

  • Poor Engine Performance
    • A faulty EGR valve can disrupt the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber, leading to poor engine performance. Symptoms include rough idling, stalling, and hesitation during acceleration.
  • Increased Emissions
    • When the EGR valve fails, it can result in higher emissions. This can cause your vehicle to fail emissions tests and contribute to environmental pollution. Excessive NOx emissions are particularly concerning.
  • Reduced Fuel Efficiency
    • A malfunctioning EGR valve can cause the engine to run inefficiently, leading to increased fuel consumption. You might notice that you need to refuel more frequently.
  • Engine Knocking
    • Improperly regulated exhaust gases can cause engine knocking or pinging, which occurs when the fuel-air mixture detonates prematurely. This can lead to engine damage if not addressed promptly.
  • Check Engine Light
    • A faulty EGR valve can trigger the check engine light on your dashboard. An OBD-II scanner can provide specific error codes that indicate problems with the EGR system.
  • Excessive Exhaust Smoke
    • If the EGR valve is stuck open or closed, it can cause excessive exhaust smoke. Black smoke typically indicates an overly rich fuel mixture, while white smoke suggests coolant entering the combustion chamber.
  • Inconsistent Engine Temperatures
    •  The EGR valve helps regulate engine temperatures by recirculating exhaust gases. A malfunctioning valve can cause the engine to run hotter or cooler than usual, potentially leading to overheating or poor combustion.

In summary, a faulty EGR valve can cause a range of engine problems, including poor performance, increased emissions, reduced fuel efficiency, engine knocking, triggering the check engine light, excessive exhaust smoke, and inconsistent engine temperatures. Recognizing these symptoms early can help you address the issue before it leads to more severe engine damage. Regular maintenance and prompt attention to EGR valve issues can ensure your vehicle runs smoothly and efficiently. If you suspect a problem with your EGR valve, consult a professional mechanic to diagnose and repair the issue effectively. Maintaining a healthy EGR system is essential for optimal engine performance and compliance with emission standards.

With proper maintenance and clean combustion, the valve can last several hundred thousand miles.

Regular inspection, routine cleaning, quality fuel, and limiting excessive idling help prevent carbon buildup and valve sticking.

Wiring faults, sensor malfunctions, or actuator motor failure can lead to improper valve operation or total failure.

Regular inspections during scheduled maintenance intervals help detect early signs of sticking or carbon buildup.
