As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

Injector hold-down bolts play a crucial role in securing fuel injectors in place, ensuring they function correctly and efficiently. When these bolts become loose, it can lead to various engine performance issues and potentially severe damage. In this blog, we will explore the symptoms of a loose injector hold-down bolt and why it’s essential to address this issue promptly.

Fuel injectors are vital components in your engine, responsible for delivering the precise amount of fuel needed for optimal combustion. The injector hold-down bolts ensure these injectors remain securely in place. When these bolts become loose, it can cause a range of problems that affect your engine's performance and reliability. Recognizing the symptoms of a loose injector hold-down bolt can help you take corrective action before more serious damage occurs.

  • Engine Misfires
    • One of the most common symptoms of a loose injector hold-down bolt is engine misfires. Loose bolts can cause the injector to move slightly, disrupting the fuel spray pattern and leading to incomplete combustion.
  • Loss of Power
    •  A loose injector can result in a loss of engine power. The injector may not deliver the correct amount of fuel, causing the engine to struggle, especially during acceleration.
  • Poor Fuel Efficiency
    •  If the injector is not properly secured, it can lead to inefficient fuel delivery and combustion. This can cause your vehicle to consume more fuel than usual, reducing overall fuel efficiency.
  • Fuel Leaks
    •  Loose hold-down bolts can lead to fuel leaks around the injector. You may notice fuel odors or visible fuel around the injector area, indicating a potential leak.
  • Rough Idling
    • A loose injector hold-down bolt can cause the engine to idle roughly. The unstable injector can lead to inconsistent fuel delivery, resulting in a rough and unstable idle.
  • Excessive Exhaust Smoke
    •  Improper fuel combustion due to a loose injector can lead to excessive exhaust smoke. This smoke can be black (indicating unburned fuel) or white (indicating incomplete combustion).
  • Check Engine Light
    •  A loose injector hold-down bolt can trigger the check engine light. The vehicle's onboard diagnostics system may detect irregularities in fuel delivery and combustion, setting off the warning light.
  • Unusual Noises
    • You may hear unusual noises coming from the engine bay, such as ticking or knocking sounds. These noises can result from the injector moving slightly within its seat due to the loose bolt.

In conclusion, recognizing the symptoms of a loose injector hold-down bolt is essential for maintaining your engine's performance and preventing further damage. Symptoms such as engine misfires, loss of power, poor fuel efficiency, fuel leaks, rough idling, excessive exhaust smoke, check engine light, and unusual noises can all indicate a problem with the injector hold-down bolts. Addressing these issues promptly by tightening or replacing the hold-down bolts can help ensure your fuel injectors function correctly and maintain optimal engine performance. If you suspect a loose injector hold-down bolt, consult a professional mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue effectively.
