The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The Cummins ISX Coolant Temperature Sensor (OEM 4921473) is a vital component for monitoring and regulating your engine's temperature. It ensures that your ISX engine operates within the optimal temperature range, helping to prevent overheating and protecting the engine from damage. Proper temperature management is crucial for maintaining engine efficiency and longevity, making the coolant temp sensor a key part of your vehicle’s system.

Role and Importance of the Cummins ISX Coolant Temperature Sensor

The coolant temp sensor monitors the temperature of the engine’s coolant. It relays this information to the engine control unit (ECU), which then adjusts the engine's operations as necessary. By maintaining the ideal operating temperature, the sensor helps improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and prevent engine damage due to overheating.

Key Features and Benefits of the Cummins ISX Coolant Temp Sensor (OEM 4921473)

  • Accurate Temperature Monitoring
    •  Provides real-time temperature data to the ECU, ensuring proper engine function.
  • Prevents Overheating
    •  Helps manage the engine’s cooling system, preventing the engine from overheating, which can cause serious damage.
  • OEM Quality
    • Built to Cummins' specifications, ensuring a perfect fit and reliable performance for ISX engines.
  • Improves Fuel Efficiency

The Cummins ISX Coolant Temperature Sensor (OEM 4921473) is an essential component for managing your engine's temperature, ensuring optimal performance, and preventing costly damage. By accurately monitoring coolant temperatures and sending that data to the ECU, this sensor helps maintain engine efficiency, reduce emissions, and improve overall fuel economy. When you need high-quality, reliable replacement parts for your diesel engine, trust TamerX Diesel Parts for your OEM sensor needs. Keep your engine running smoothly and at the right temperature with this critical component.

The coolant temperature sensor plays a vital role in monitoring your vehicle's engine temperature. It sends crucial data to the engine control unit (ECU) to regulate cooling functions and ensure optimal engine performance. When the coolant temperature sensor fails, it can cause various issues affecting the engine's efficiency and health. Here’s how to identify if your coolant temperature sensor is malfunctioning.

Symptoms of a Bad Coolant Temperature Sensor:

  • Erratic Temperature Readings

    • If your dashboard shows fluctuating or incorrect temperature readings, it could indicate a faulty sensor. These erratic readings can prevent the engine from cooling effectively.
  • Poor Fuel Economy

    • A malfunctioning coolant temperature sensor may send inaccurate signals to the ECU, leading to inefficient fuel combustion, which results in poor fuel economy.
  • Engine Overheating

    • When the sensor fails, the cooling fan may not engage when needed, causing the engine to overheat, which can result in significant engine damage.
  • Hard Starts or Stalling

    • A faulty sensor can cause incorrect air-fuel mixture regulation, making it difficult to start the engine or causing it to stall during operation.
  • Check Engine Light

    • A bad coolant temperature sensor often triggers the check engine light. This warning signals that the ECU is receiving faulty data regarding the engine's temperature.
  • Black Exhaust Smoke

    • When the sensor malfunctions, the engine may run too rich, meaning too much fuel and not enough air. This imbalance can cause black smoke to emit from the exhaust.

A failing coolant temperature sensor can affect engine performance, fuel efficiency, and lead to overheating issues. Recognizing the symptoms early is crucial to avoiding costly repairs and ensuring your vehicle runs smoothly. If you suspect an issue with your coolant temperature sensor, TamerX Diesel Parts offers reliable replacements to keep your engine functioning at its best.
