Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

Fuel injectors are essential components of modern diesel engines, ensuring that the right amount of fuel is delivered to the combustion chamber for efficient performance. When fuel injectors become clogged, it can lead to various engine issues that affect your vehicle's efficiency and drivability. In this blog, we will explore the common signs of a clogged fuel injector and why it's crucial to address these issues promptly.

Clogged fuel injectors can significantly impact your vehicle's performance and fuel efficiency. Identifying the signs of a clogged fuel injector early can help prevent more severe engine problems and costly repairs. Understanding these symptoms is essential for maintaining your vehicle’s optimal performance and ensuring a smooth driving experience.

  • Rough Idling
    • One of the most noticeable symptoms of a clogged fuel injector is rough idling. When the injector is clogged, it can disrupt the smooth delivery of fuel, causing the engine to idle roughly or inconsistently.
  • Engine Misfires
    • A clogged fuel injector can cause the engine to misfire. This happens because the injector cannot deliver the necessary amount of fuel to the combustion chamber, leading to incomplete combustion.
  • Poor Acceleration
    •  If your vehicle struggles to accelerate or exhibits sluggish performance, it could be due to a clogged fuel injector. Insufficient fuel delivery affects the engine’s ability to generate power efficiently.
  • Increased Fuel Consumption
    •  A clogged injector can lead to inefficient fuel combustion, causing the engine to use more fuel than usual. You may notice a significant drop in fuel economy as a result.
  • Check Engine Light
    •  The check engine light can be triggered by various issues, including a clogged fuel injector. If this light comes on, it's important to have your vehicle diagnosed to determine the cause.
  • Engine Knocking
    •  Unusual knocking or pinging sounds from the engine can indicate that the fuel injector is clogged. These noises result from improper fuel-air mixture and uneven combustion.
  • Excessive Smoke
    •  A clogged fuel injector can cause excessive exhaust smoke. This smoke is usually black, indicating that the fuel is not burning completely in the combustion chamber.
  • Starting Issues
    • Difficulty starting the engine or extended cranking times can be a sign of a clogged fuel injector. The restricted fuel flow prevents the engine from starting smoothly.

In summary, recognizing the signs of a clogged fuel injector is crucial for maintaining your vehicle's performance and preventing costly repairs. Symptoms such as rough idling, engine misfires, poor acceleration, increased fuel consumption, check engine light, engine knocking, excessive smoke, and starting issues can all indicate a problem with the fuel injector. Addressing these issues promptly through regular maintenance and professional diagnostics can help ensure your vehicle runs efficiently and reliably. If you suspect a clogged fuel injector, seek professional assistance to restore your engine's optimal performance.
