The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The crank position sensor is an essential component for the proper functioning of the Dodge Ram Cummins 5.9L and 6.7L engines. The sensor monitors the position and speed of the crankshaft, providing critical data to the engine control module (ECM) to ensure precise timing and fuel injection. The Dodge Ram Cummins 5.9L, 6.7L Crank Position Sensor (OEM 2872277) is vital for smooth engine operation and preventing potential engine issues caused by misalignment or incorrect timing.

Key Functions of the Crank Position Sensor

  • Monitors Crankshaft Position
    •  The sensor provides real-time data about the crankshaft’s position, ensuring that the engine operates with proper timing.
  • Supports Fuel Injection Timing
    • By delivering accurate data, the sensor helps the ECM control fuel injection timing, which is essential for efficient combustion.
  • Prevents Engine Misfires
    •  A functioning crank position sensor helps prevent engine misfires by ensuring that the engine’s cylinders fire in the correct order.
  • Improves Engine Efficiency
    •  Proper crankshaft monitoring leads to better fuel economy and overall engine performance by maintaining smooth and accurate engine timing.

Maintenance Tips for the Crank Position Sensor

  • Inspect Regularly
    •  Periodically check the sensor for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion that could affect its performance.
  • Monitor Engine Performance
    •  If you notice symptoms like engine stalling, difficulty starting, or rough idling, it may be time to inspect or replace the crank position sensor.
  • Ensure Proper Installation
    •  If the sensor needs replacing, ensure that it is installed correctly to avoid further engine issues.
  • Replace When Necessary
    •  Over time, sensors may wear out. Replacing a faulty crank position sensor with the OEM 2872277 will restore proper engine functionality.

The Dodge Ram Cummins 5.9L, 6.7L Crank Position Sensor (OEM 2872277) plays a critical role in ensuring accurate engine timing and smooth operation. Regular inspections and timely replacements can prevent engine problems, keeping your vehicle running efficiently. TamerX Diesel Parts provides high-quality crank position sensors and other essential components to keep your engine performing at its best.

The crankshaft position sensor plays a vital role in your engine’s performance by monitoring the crankshaft's speed and position, providing data to the engine control unit (ECU). When the crankshaft position sensor begins to fail, it can lead to various engine issues that affect drivability and performance. Recognizing the symptoms of a bad crankshaft position sensor can help you avoid further damage to your engine.

  • Engine Misfires

    • A failing crankshaft position sensor can lead to incorrect engine timing, causing misfires. This can result in poor engine performance, rough idling, or even stalling.

  • Difficulty Starting the Engine

    • If the sensor is faulty, it may not send the correct signals to the ECU, leading to hard starting or the engine not starting at all.

  • Check Engine Light

    • One of the most common signs of a bad crankshaft position sensor is the illumination of the check engine light. The ECU detects irregular readings and triggers the warning.

  • Engine Stalling

    •  A failing crankshaft sensor can cause the engine to stall unexpectedly, especially when idling or during low-speed driving, as it interrupts the engine’s timing.

  • Reduced Engine Power

    • Without proper data from the crankshaft position sensor, the ECU may not be able to adjust engine timing effectively, leading to a noticeable drop in engine power and sluggish performance.

  • Poor Fuel Efficiency

    • When the crankshaft position sensor fails, it can cause the engine to run inefficiently, leading to increased fuel consumption as the ECU struggles to maintain the right balance of air and fuel.

A bad crankshaft position sensor can cause a range of issues, from engine misfires to poor fuel efficiency and stalling. If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s important to have the sensor inspected and replaced as needed to maintain engine performance. Early diagnosis and repair can prevent further complications and ensure your vehicle runs smoothly.
