The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

Understanding the functionality of the EGR Valve Actuator in the Detroit 60 Series engines, particularly the 2003-2007 models with OEM 23533139, is crucial for maintaining optimal performance and compliance with emission standards. The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system plays a pivotal role in reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, and the actuator is a key component in this system.

How the EGR Valve Actuator Works

The EGR valve actuator is responsible for controlling the flow of exhaust gases back into the engine’s intake manifold. This process helps lower the combustion temperature, reducing NOx emissions. The actuator receives signals from the engine control unit (ECU) to open or close the EGR valve based on various engine parameters.

Key Functions of the EGR Valve Actuator:

  • Modulates EGR Valve Position
    • Adjusts the opening of the EGR valve to control the amount of exhaust gas recirculated.
  • Responds to ECU Commands
    • Receives real-time instructions from the engine control unit to optimize performance.
  • Helps Maintain Emission Standards
    • Ensures the engine complies with environmental regulations by reducing NOx emissions.

Benefits of a Properly Functioning EGR Valve Actuator

  • Enhanced Fuel Efficiency
    • Proper exhaust gas recirculation can improve fuel economy.
  • Reduced Emissions
    • Significantly lowers harmful NOx emissions.
  • Improved Engine Performance
    • Helps maintain optimal combustion temperatures, enhancing overall engine performance.

Signs of a Faulty EGR Valve Actuator

  • Engine Knocking
    • Irregular combustion sounds due to incorrect exhaust gas recirculation.
  • Poor Acceleration
    • Reduced engine responsiveness and power.
  • Check Engine Light
    • Often triggered by a malfunctioning EGR system.

For Detroit 60 Series engines, particularly the 2003-2007 models, the EGR valve actuator (OEM 23533139) is essential for maintaining efficiency and meeting emission standards. Ensuring it functions correctly can lead to better engine performance, improved fuel economy, and reduced environmental impact. Regular maintenance and timely replacements can prevent common issues and prolong the life of your engine.

A malfunctioning EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve actuator can lead to various issues in your vehicle, affecting its performance and emissions. Recognizing the signs of a failing EGR valve actuator can save you from costly repairs and keep your engine running smoothly. Here’s what to look for:

Symptoms of a Bad EGR Valve Actuator

  • Check Engine Light
    • One of the most common indicators is the check engine light. When the EGR valve actuator malfunctions, it triggers the onboard diagnostics system to alert you.
  • Rough Idling
    • A faulty EGR valve actuator can cause the engine to idle roughly. You may notice the engine shaking or vibrating more than usual when it is idling.
  • Reduced Fuel Efficiency
    • If the EGR valve actuator is not working correctly, it can lead to increased fuel consumption. You might find yourself refueling more often.
  • Poor Acceleration
    • Difficulty in accelerating or a noticeable decrease in power can be a sign that the EGR valve actuator is not functioning properly.

Key Signs to Watch For:

  • Stalling
    • Your engine may stall or have trouble starting.
  • Increased Emissions
    • A malfunctioning EGR valve actuator can result in higher emissions, potentially causing your vehicle to fail an emissions test.
  • Engine Knock
    • Listen for knocking sounds coming from the engine, which can be a sign of incomplete combustion due to a faulty EGR valve actuator.

Ignoring these symptoms can lead to more severe engine problems. A faulty EGR valve actuator can cause excessive carbon buildup, leading to more significant engine damage. Don't let a failing EGR valve actuator disrupt your ride. Make sure these issues are addressed early to ensure your vehicle runs smoothly, efficiently, and with reduced emissions.
