The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The Mack MP7, MP8, MP10 EGR Temperature Sensor 2011-2019: OEM 21164790 is essential for maintaining your vehicle's emission control and engine efficiency. With accurate temperature monitoring, enhanced engine performance, and durable construction, this sensor ensures that your Mack engine operates smoothly while complying with emission standards. Investing in this OEM part will help keep your vehicle running efficiently, providing the reliability and environmental responsibility you need on the road.

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) temperature sensor is a critical component in your vehicle’s emission control system, monitoring the temperature of the exhaust gases being recirculated back into the engine. When the EGR temperature sensor begins to fail, it can lead to various engine performance issues and increased emissions. Identifying the symptoms of a failing EGR temperature sensor early can help you address the problem before it leads to more serious complications. In this blog, we’ll explore the common signs of a failing EGR temperature sensor.

Common Symptoms of a Failing EGR Temperature Sensor

  • Check Engine Light
    • One of the most common indicators of a failing EGR temperature sensor is the illumination of the check engine light. A malfunctioning sensor can trigger diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that illuminate this warning light.
  • Increased Emissions
    •  A faulty EGR temperature sensor can lead to improper operation of the EGR system, resulting in higher emissions. This can cause your vehicle to fail emissions tests and contribute to environmental pollution.
  • Poor Engine Performance
    • When the EGR temperature sensor fails, it can cause the EGR valve to open or close at incorrect times. This can lead to rough idling, engine misfires, and a noticeable drop in engine performance.
  • Erratic Engine Behavior
    •  A failing sensor can cause the EGR system to function erratically, leading to inconsistent engine behavior. You may experience fluctuations in engine power, especially during acceleration or deceleration.
  • Reduced Fuel Efficiency
    • A malfunctioning EGR temperature sensor can cause the engine to run inefficiently, leading to increased fuel consumption. You may notice that you need to refuel more frequently than usual.
  • Overheating Issues
    • In some cases, a failing EGR temperature sensor can contribute to engine overheating. If the EGR system is not functioning correctly, it can result in higher combustion temperatures, putting additional strain on the engine cooling system.

Recognizing the symptoms of a failing EGR temperature sensor is crucial for maintaining your vehicle’s performance and ensuring it meets emissions standards. If you notice any of these signs, it’s important to have your EGR system inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible. Addressing EGR sensor issues early can prevent more serious engine problems and help keep your vehicle running efficiently.
