The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system is a critical component in reducing harmful emissions and improving engine efficiency. The Mack MP8 EGR Cooler Tube, OEM 21119812, designed for models from 2008 to 2016, plays a vital role in channeling exhaust gases through the EGR cooler. This blog will explore the function of the EGR cooler tube and its importance in maintaining your engine’s performance.

Key Functions of the Mack MP8 EGR Cooler Tube

  • Channels Exhaust Gases
    •  The EGR cooler tube directs exhaust gases from the engine to the EGR cooler, where they are cooled before being recirculated into the combustion chamber.
  • Reduces NOx Emissions
    •  By allowing cooled exhaust gases to be reintroduced into the engine, the EGR system lowers the formation of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are harmful pollutants.
  • Supports Engine Temperature Control
    • The tube helps manage combustion temperatures by introducing cooled exhaust gases, preventing engine overheating and ensuring stable operation.
  • Ensures Proper EGR Flow
    • A well-maintained EGR cooler tube ensures the correct flow of exhaust gases through the EGR system, which is essential for effective emission control.
  • Prevents Engine Wear
    • By regulating exhaust gas temperatures, the EGR cooler tube helps protect engine components from heat-related damage, extending the engine's lifespan.

Maintenance Tips for the Mack MP8 EGR Cooler Tube

  • Inspect Regularly for Leaks or Blockages
    • Periodically check the EGR cooler tube for any signs of wear, leaks, or blockages that could disrupt the flow of exhaust gases.
  • Clean the EGR System
    • Keep the EGR cooler tube and related components clean to prevent carbon buildup, ensuring the system operates efficiently.
  • Monitor Engine Performance
    •  Symptoms such as increased emissions, engine overheating, or loss of power may indicate issues with the EGR system that need attention.
  • Replace When Necessary
    • If the EGR cooler tube shows signs of significant wear or damage, replacing it with the OEM 21119812 can restore proper function and maintain emission standards.

The Mack MP8 EGR Cooler Tube OEM 21119812 is essential for managing emissions, maintaining engine temperature, and ensuring smooth engine operation. Regular maintenance and timely replacement of the EGR cooler tube can help keep your engine running efficiently. TamerX Diesel Parts provides high-quality OEM parts to support the reliable performance of your Mack MP8 engine.

The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) cooler tube is a vital component of your vehicle’s emission control system, helping to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by cooling the exhaust gases before they re-enter the engine. When the EGR cooler tube begins to leak, it can cause a variety of issues that affect engine performance, efficiency, and emissions. Recognizing the signs of a leaking EGR cooler tube early on can help you address the problem before it leads to more significant damage.

  • White Smoke from the Exhaust

    •  One of the most common symptoms of a leaking EGR cooler tube is white, steam-like smoke coming from the exhaust. This indicates that coolant is leaking into the exhaust system and being burned off, which is often caused by a crack or leak in the cooler tube.

  • Loss of Coolant

    •  If you find that your vehicle’s coolant levels are dropping frequently without any visible external leaks, it could indicate a leak in the EGR cooler tube. The coolant may be leaking internally into the exhaust system.

  • Engine Overheating

    •  A leaking EGR cooler tube can lead to a loss of coolant, causing the engine to overheat. Insufficient coolant levels can result in higher engine temperatures and potentially severe damage if not addressed promptly.

  • Check Engine Light Activation

    • A leak in the EGR cooler tube can trigger the check engine light. The vehicle’s onboard diagnostics may detect problems related to the exhaust gas flow, coolant levels, or engine temperature, prompting a warning.

  • Poor Engine Performance

    •  If the EGR cooler tube is leaking, it can affect engine performance by disrupting the proper flow and cooling of exhaust gases. This can lead to rough idling, reduced power, or even engine stalling.

  • Coolant Contamination in the Oil

    •  In severe cases, a leak in the EGR cooler tube can allow coolant to mix with the engine oil, causing contamination. This can be identified by a milky appearance in the oil or an unusual oil texture.

  • Increased Emissions

    • A leaking EGR cooler tube may cause the exhaust gases to bypass the cooling process, leading to higher nitrogen oxide emissions. This can result in your vehicle failing an emissions test.

Identifying a leaking EGR cooler tube early on is crucial to preventing more extensive engine damage and ensuring your vehicle remains efficient and environmentally compliant. If you notice symptoms such as white smoke, coolant loss, or engine overheating, it’s important to have your vehicle inspected by a professional. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can help keep your EGR system functioning properly and extend the life of your engine.
