The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The engine oil cooler gasket is a critical component that ensures a proper seal between the oil cooler and the engine, preventing oil leaks and maintaining optimal engine temperature. Over time, this gasket can wear out or become damaged, leading to potential oil leaks and engine overheating. Replacing a worn or damaged engine oil cooler gasket is essential for maintaining engine performance and preventing costly repairs. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to replace an engine oil cooler gasket effectively.

  • Gather Necessary Tools and Materials

    • Before you begin, ensure you have all the required tools and materials, including a new oil cooler gasket, a socket set, screwdrivers, an oil drain pan, and clean rags. Having everything ready will make the process smoother and more efficient.

  • Drain the Engine Oil

    • Start by draining the engine oil to prevent any spills during the gasket replacement. Place an oil drain pan under the oil pan, remove the drain plug, and allow the oil to drain completely. Once drained, replace the drain plug securely.

  • Remove the Oil Cooler

    • Locate the oil cooler, which is typically mounted near the radiator or engine block. Carefully disconnect the oil cooler lines and hoses, taking care to catch any remaining oil in the drain pan. Use a socket set to remove the bolts securing the oil cooler to the engine. Gently remove the oil cooler from the engine.

  • Remove the Old Gasket

    • Once the oil cooler is removed, you'll have access to the old gasket. Carefully remove the old gasket from the oil cooler and engine surface, being cautious not to scratch or damage the surfaces. Use a gasket scraper or a similar tool to remove any residue or debris left behind.

  • Install the New Gasket

    • After thoroughly cleaning the surfaces, place the new gasket onto the oil cooler or engine block, ensuring it is aligned correctly with the mounting holes. If recommended, apply a thin layer of gasket sealant to both sides of the gasket for added security.

  • Reattach the Oil Cooler

    • Carefully position the oil cooler back onto the engine, aligning it with the mounting holes and the new gasket. Secure the oil cooler with the bolts, tightening them in a crisscross pattern to ensure even pressure and a proper seal.

  • Reconnect Oil Lines and Hoses

    • Reattach the oil cooler lines and hoses, ensuring they are securely fastened. Double-check all connections to prevent leaks.

  • Refill Engine Oil and Test

    • Once everything is reassembled, refill the engine with the appropriate amount and type of oil. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, checking for any signs of oil leaks around the oil cooler. Monitor the oil pressure and temperature to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

Replacing an engine oil cooler gasket is a crucial maintenance task that can prevent oil leaks and protect your engine from overheating. By following these steps and using the right tools, you can replace the gasket efficiently and ensure your engine continues to run smoothly. Regular inspection and timely replacement of worn components like the oil cooler gasket will help maintain your vehicle's performance and extend its lifespan, saving you from costly repairs in the future.
