Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The Mack MP7 and MP8 engines are known for their robust performance and reliability in heavy-duty applications. A critical component in maintaining these engines' efficiency is the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve gasket. The OEM 20850815 EGR valve gasket kit, designed for models from 2008 to 2018, plays a vital role in sealing the EGR valve, ensuring optimal performance and emissions control.

Importance of the EGR Valve Gasket

The EGR valve gasket is essential for preventing exhaust leaks and maintaining the correct pressure within the EGR system. This ensures that the exhaust gases are properly recirculated back into the combustion chamber, reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and improving fuel efficiency.

Key Benefits of the OEM 20850815 EGR Valve Gasket Kit

  • Perfect Seal

    • The OEM 20850815 gasket kit is designed to provide a perfect seal for the EGR valve, preventing exhaust leaks and ensuring the EGR system functions efficiently. A proper seal is crucial for maintaining engine performance and emissions compliance.

  • Enhanced Engine Performance

    • By preventing exhaust leaks and ensuring the correct recirculation of exhaust gases, the EGR valve gasket helps improve engine performance. This leads to smoother operation, better fuel efficiency, and reduced emissions.

  • Durability and Reliability

    • Manufactured to high OEM standards, the 20850815 gasket kit is built to withstand the harsh conditions of heavy-duty engine use. Its robust construction ensures long-lasting performance, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

  • Easy Installation

    •  The gasket kit is designed for easy installation, ensuring a perfect fit for the Mack MP7 and MP8 engines. This reduces downtime and maintenance costs, making it a cost-effective solution for maintaining engine efficiency.

Common Issues and Maintenance Tips

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your EGR valve gasket, regular maintenance is essential. Here are some common issues and tips:

  • Regular Inspection

    •  Periodically inspect the EGR valve gasket for signs of wear or damage. Look for issues such as cracks or leaks, which can affect the performance of the EGR system.

  • Cleanliness

    •  Keep the EGR valve and gasket area clean and free from debris. Contaminants can interfere with the gasket's ability to seal properly, leading to exhaust leaks.

  • Timely Replacement

    •  If you notice symptoms such as increased emissions, reduced fuel efficiency, or engine performance issues, it may be time to replace the EGR valve gasket with the OEM 20850815. Prompt replacement ensures optimal performance and emissions compliance.

  • Professional Servicing

    • Have a qualified technician perform regular diagnostics and maintenance to ensure the EGR valve and gasket are functioning correctly. Professionals can provide detailed inspections and replace the gasket as needed.

Investing in the OEM 20850815 EGR valve gasket kit for your Mack MP7 and MP8 engines is crucial for maintaining high performance and efficiency. Regular maintenance and timely replacement of this critical component can significantly enhance your engine’s lifespan and operational efficiency. By focusing on these aspects, you can ensure your engine runs smoothly, providing reliable performance for all your heavy-duty applications. Keeping your EGR valve gasket in top condition not only optimizes engine performance but also contributes to better fuel efficiency and compliance with emission standards, making it a valuable part of your vehicle’s maintenance routine.

The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve plays a crucial role in controlling emissions and maintaining engine efficiency. However, a failing EGR valve gasket can disrupt this process, leading to various performance issues. Recognizing the symptoms of a failing EGR valve gasket early can save you from costly repairs and keep your vehicle running smoothly. In this blog, we will explore the common signs of a failing EGR valve gasket and why timely detection is essential.

The EGR valve gasket is responsible for sealing the EGR valve, ensuring no exhaust gases escape before they are recirculated. When this gasket starts to fail, it can lead to a host of problems that are often noticeable while driving. Here are some common symptoms:

  • Rough Idle

    •  If you notice your engine sputtering or shaking when idling, it could indicate a problem with the EGR valve gasket.

  • Reduced Fuel Efficiency

    • A leaking gasket can cause an imbalance in the air-fuel mixture, leading to increased fuel consumption. If you find yourself visiting the gas station more frequently, it might be time to check the EGR system.

  • Decreased Engine Performance

    •  You might experience a decrease in power, particularly during acceleration. This happens because the leaking gasket can cause a drop in engine vacuum, affecting the overall performance.

  • Check Engine Light

    •  Modern vehicles are equipped with sensors that monitor the performance of the EGR system. If the system detects an issue, such as a failing EGR valve gasket, the Check Engine Light will activate. It’s crucial to address this warning promptly by having your vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic.

In conclusion, a failing EGR valve gasket can lead to several noticeable symptoms, including rough idling, reduced fuel efficiency, decreased engine performance, and the activation of the Check Engine Light. Early detection and timely repair of this issue can prevent more severe damage and ensure your vehicle runs efficiently. If you suspect any of these symptoms, it’s advisable to consult with a qualified mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem. Keeping your EGR system in good condition not only benefits your vehicle's performance but also contributes to a cleaner environment.
