The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The turbocharger is a vital component in many modern engines, boosting power and efficiency by forcing more air into the combustion chamber. However, like any mechanical part, the turbo assembly can wear out over time. Recognizing the signs that your turbo assembly needs to be replaced can help prevent more severe engine damage and ensure your vehicle continues to perform at its best. In this blog, we’ll explore the common symptoms that indicate your turbo assembly may be nearing the end of its lifespan.

Signs Your Turbo Assembly May Need Replacement

  • Loss of Power
    •  A noticeable loss of engine power, particularly during acceleration, can indicate that the turbo is no longer providing the necessary boost. If your vehicle feels sluggish or struggles to reach higher speeds, it may be time to inspect the turbo assembly.
  • Excessive Exhaust Smoke
    • If you see excessive smoke coming from the exhaust, especially black, blue, or gray in color, it could be a sign that the turbo assembly is failing. This could be due to oil leaking into the exhaust system or the turbo not functioning efficiently.
  • Unusual Noises
    • A failing turbo may produce unusual noises such as a whining, whistling, or grinding sound when the turbo is spooling up. These sounds often indicate that the internal components of the turbo are worn or damaged.
  • Check Engine Light
    • The check engine light may illuminate if there is an issue with the turbocharger. While this light can be triggered by various issues, a diagnostic scan can help determine if the turbo assembly is the problem.
  • Increased Oil Consumption
    •  A failing turbo can lead to increased oil consumption due to oil leaks within the turbo housing. If you find yourself adding oil more frequently, it could be a sign that your turbo assembly is leaking and needs to be checked.
  • Boost Pressure Loss
    •  If you have a boost gauge installed, you may notice a drop in boost pressure. This indicates that the turbo is not generating the necessary pressure, often due to worn components or leaks in the system.
  • Poor Fuel Efficiency
    • A malfunctioning turbo can cause the engine to run less efficiently, leading to a noticeable drop in fuel economy. If you’re getting fewer miles per gallon than usual, the turbo may be to blame.

Recognizing the signs of a failing turbo assembly is crucial for maintaining your vehicle’s performance and preventing more significant engine issues. If you experience any of these symptoms, it’s important to have your turbo assembly inspected by a professional mechanic. Early diagnosis and replacement of a failing turbo can save you from costly repairs and ensure your vehicle continues to deliver the power and efficiency you expect. Keeping your turbo assembly in good condition is key to enjoying a smooth and powerful driving experience.

The turbocharger compresses air entering the engine's combustion chamber, allowing for more efficient fuel combustion and enhanced engine power.

Symptoms of a failing turbocharger include reduced engine power, excessive exhaust smoke, unusual noises from the turbocharger, and increased oil consumption.

Common causes include poor lubrication, foreign material from intake air, defective shaft/bearing, and oil leaks from the shaft bearing.

Regular maintenance, including timely oil changes, using high-quality air filters, and ensuring proper lubrication, can help prevent turbocharger problems.
