The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The camshaft is a crucial component in your vehicle's engine, controlling the opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves. When the camshaft experiences issues, it can lead to significant engine performance problems. Diagnosing camshaft problems early is essential to maintain your vehicle’s efficiency and prevent severe engine damage.

Camshaft problems can significantly impact your engine's performance, causing issues such as rough idling, poor fuel economy, and engine misfires. Recognizing the symptoms and diagnosing camshaft problems early can help you avoid costly repairs and keep your vehicle running smoothly. Here are some common signs and methods to diagnose camshaft problems.

  • Engine Misfires

    • One of the most noticeable symptoms of camshaft problems is engine misfires. If the camshaft is worn or damaged, it can disrupt the timing of the valve operation, leading to misfires and a rough-running engine.

  • Rough Idling

    •  A faulty camshaft can cause the engine to idle roughly or inconsistently. You may notice unusual vibrations or sounds coming from the engine when it is idling.

  • Poor Fuel Economy

    •  Camshaft issues can lead to improper valve timing, which affects the engine’s efficiency. This can result in poor fuel economy as the engine struggles to run efficiently.

  • Check Engine Light

    •  The check engine light may illuminate if there are issues with the camshaft. An OBD-II scanner can help you read the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) to identify the specific problem related to the camshaft.

  • Unusual Noises

    •  Listen for unusual noises such as ticking, tapping, or knocking sounds coming from the engine. These sounds can indicate that the camshaft or its components are worn or damaged.

  • Loss of Power

    •  A failing camshaft can lead to a noticeable loss of power and acceleration. The engine may struggle to perform as it should, especially during high-demand situations like overtaking or climbing hills.

  • Visual Inspection

    • Visually inspecting the camshaft and its components can help identify signs of wear or damage. Look for worn lobes, damaged bearings, or other visible issues that could affect the camshaft’s performance.

  • Camshaft Position Sensor

    • The camshaft position sensor monitors the camshaft's position and sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU). If this sensor fails, it can cause similar symptoms to camshaft problems. Checking the sensor can help rule out or confirm the issue.

In conclusion, diagnosing camshaft problems involves looking for symptoms such as engine misfires, rough idling, poor fuel economy, check engine light activation, unusual noises, loss of power, and performing a visual inspection. Addressing these issues early can prevent further engine damage and ensure your vehicle runs efficiently. If you suspect camshaft problems, consult a professional mechanic for a thorough inspection and necessary repairs. Regular maintenance and timely attention to camshaft issues can help maintain your engine’s performance and reliability.

It controls the timing and movement of the engine’s intake and exhaust valves.

Symptoms include rough idling, misfires, power loss, and unusual ticking noises.

Regular oil changes, using high-quality oil, and ensuring proper valve lash adjustments can extend its lifespan.

Excessive wear on cam lobes or lifters can create metal-on-metal contact, producing knocking sounds.
