The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system plays a critical role in reducing harmful emissions by recirculating a portion of the exhaust gases back into the engine’s intake manifold. The Detroit 60 Series EGR Sensor, OEM 23531964, is an essential part of this system, ensuring that the EGR system operates efficiently. This blog will explore how the EGR sensor works and why it’s vital to maintain it for optimal engine performance and emission control.

Key Functions of the Detroit 60 Series EGR Sensor (OEM 23531964):

  • Monitors Exhaust Gas Flow

    • The EGR sensor monitors the amount of exhaust gas being recirculated into the engine, ensuring the correct volume is returned to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.

  • Supports Efficient Combustion

    • By regulating the flow of exhaust gases, the sensor helps maintain proper combustion temperatures, leading to more efficient fuel burning and better overall engine performance.

  • Reduces Emissions

    • The primary function of the EGR sensor is to assist in reducing NOx emissions, which helps the engine meet environmental standards and contributes to cleaner air.

  • Prevents Engine Malfunctions

    • A faulty EGR sensor can lead to issues such as poor fuel efficiency, rough idling, or even engine stalling. The OEM 23531964 sensor ensures the EGR system operates smoothly, preventing these potential problems.

  • Specifically Designed for the Detroit 60 Series

    • Built to fit Detroit 60 Series engines from 2004 to 2007, this sensor is designed for durability and reliability, ensuring long-term performance in demanding conditions.

The Detroit 60 Series EGR Sensor (OEM 23531964) is essential for maintaining emission control and ensuring efficient engine performance. Regular maintenance or replacement of this sensor ensures your engine runs smoothly while reducing harmful emissions. At TamerX Diesel Parts, we offer high-quality OEM EGR sensors to help keep your Detroit 60 Series engine compliant and running at its best.

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) sensor is an essential component of your vehicle’s emission control system. It helps monitor the flow of exhaust gases that are recirculated back into the engine to reduce harmful emissions. When the EGR sensor fails, it can lead to various engine performance issues and even affect fuel efficiency. In this blog, we’ll discuss the common symptoms of a bad EGR sensor and why it’s important to address them promptly.

Symptoms of a Bad EGR Sensor:

  • Check Engine Light

    • One of the first signs of a bad EGR sensor is the check engine light illuminating on your dashboard. The engine control unit (ECU) may detect a problem with the EGR system and trigger this warning.

  • Poor Fuel Efficiency

    • A malfunctioning EGR sensor can disrupt the air-fuel mixture, leading to inefficient combustion. As a result, you may notice a decrease in fuel efficiency, causing you to refuel more often.

  • Engine Performance Issues

    • A bad EGR sensor can cause engine misfires, hesitation, or rough idling. These issues occur because the engine is not receiving the correct amount of exhaust gases, affecting overall performance.

  • Increased Emissions

    •  If the EGR sensor isn’t working properly, the engine may not reduce emissions as intended. This can lead to higher levels of harmful gases being released from the exhaust, which could cause your vehicle to fail an emissions test.

  • Stalling or Rough Idling

    • A failing EGR sensor can cause the engine to stall or idle roughly, especially when stopped or at low speeds. This is due to improper recirculation of exhaust gases, leading to poor engine operation.

  • Knocking Sounds

    • You may hear knocking or pinging sounds coming from the engine due to an improper air-fuel ratio caused by a faulty EGR sensor. This noise indicates incomplete combustion, which can damage engine components over time.

A bad EGR sensor can lead to several symptoms, including the check engine light, poor fuel efficiency, engine performance issues, and increased emissions. Recognizing these symptoms early is key to preventing more serious engine damage and costly repairs. If you notice any of these signs, it’s essential to have your EGR system inspected and repaired to maintain your vehicle’s performance and reduce harmful emissions. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can keep your engine running smoothly and efficiently.
