The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

Regular maintenance and timely replacement are essential to prolong the life of your engine and ensure consistent performance.

Function and Importance of the Detroit 14.0L Engine Oil Pump

  • Lubrication Management
    • The oil pump ensures that engine parts receive sufficient lubrication, minimizing wear and tear by reducing friction between moving parts.
  • Temperature Control
    •  By circulating oil through the engine, the pump helps to maintain optimal operating temperatures, preventing overheating and potential engine damage.
  • Engine Cleanliness
    •  The oil pump helps keep the engine clean by removing debris and contaminants through the oil filter system, preserving engine health.
  • OEM Quality
    •  The OEM 23527448 is designed specifically for Detroit 14.0L engines, ensuring compatibility, proper fitment, and reliable performance.

Maintenance Tips for the Detroit 14.0L Engine Oil Pump

  • Regular Oil Changes
    • Fresh, clean oil is crucial for the oil pump’s performance. Regular oil changes reduce the buildup of sludge or debris that could cause blockages.
  • Monitor Oil Pressure
    • Keep an eye on your vehicle’s oil pressure gauge. Low oil pressure can indicate a problem with the oil pump, requiring immediate attention.
  • Listen for Warning Signs
    •  Noises such as knocking or ticking may indicate that the oil pump is failing, as the engine isn’t receiving enough lubrication.
  • Inspect for Leaks
    •  Check for oil leaks around the pump, as they can lead to reduced oil levels and poor performance.
  • Timely Replacement
    •  If your pump is nearing the end of its service life, replacing it with OEM 23527448 ensures optimal performance and extends engine life.

The Detroit 14.0L Engine Oil Pump (OEM 23527448) is essential for maintaining lubrication, reducing friction, and controlling engine temperature in your Detroit Diesel engine. Proper maintenance, including oil changes and regular inspections, will ensure that this component operates efficiently, keeping your engine running smoothly for years to come. Rely on TamerX Diesel Parts for high-quality, OEM replacement parts to keep your engine in peak condition.

The engine oil pump is responsible for maintaining proper oil circulation and pressure throughout the engine, ensuring that all moving parts are well-lubricated. When the oil pump begins to fail, it can cause serious engine damage if not addressed quickly. Recognizing the symptoms of a failing engine oil pump can help you take action before more costly repairs are needed.

  • Low Oil Pressure Warning

    • One of the earliest signs of a failing oil pump is the low oil pressure warning light on your dashboard. This indicates that the pump is not delivering enough oil to the engine.

  • Increased Engine Temperature

    •  Without proper oil circulation, engine components may overheat due to friction. A failing oil pump can cause the engine to run hotter than normal, leading to potential overheating.

  • Noisy Hydraulic Lifters

    •  If the oil pump isn't providing adequate oil pressure, the hydraulic lifters may start to make noise due to insufficient lubrication. This often sounds like a ticking or tapping noise coming from the engine.

  • Valve Train Noise

    • A lack of oil pressure can also cause the valve train to become noisy, as the parts aren’t being properly lubricated. You might hear clattering or ticking sounds under the hood.

  • Engine Stalling or Failure

    •  If the oil pump fails completely, the engine may stall due to a lack of lubrication. Continued operation with a bad oil pump can lead to catastrophic engine failure.

A failing engine oil pump can present symptoms such as low oil pressure, increased engine temperature, noisy hydraulic lifters, and engine stalling. If you notice any of these signs, it’s crucial to have your oil pump and overall lubrication system inspected immediately. Addressing the issue early can prevent serious engine damage and ensure your vehicle continues to run efficiently. Regular maintenance and oil checks can also help extend the life of your oil pump and engine.
